Cut vs. Un - The Haves & the Have Nots

An ongoing debate is...well...ongoing about the need, value or even visual attributes of male circumcision. The Governor of California recently signed a law that refutes any attempt to ban this act by extremists who view it as a painful and unnecessary mutilation of man's greatest gift. Personally, I come from a family of circumcised men, and thought little of it until my adulthood when it dawned on me that there were intense feelings on both sides about what was originally a purely religious practice. Since that time, however, different studies have shown that cut males tend to have and transmit fewer STD's and, indeed, may be less apt to incur or increase the likelihood of cancers associated with sexual activity. In fact, a representative, nation-wide survey of all states, published in 2007 by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), found that the overall rate of circumcision in the USA was 79%, with rates varying by race and ethnicity, being 88% in non-Hispanic whites, 73% in blacks, 42% in Mexican-Americans and 50% in others. Interestingly, both Jews and Muslims have similar high rates of circumcision by adulthood. Who says those two religious can't see eye to eye (so to speak)? The Philippines and Korea have the highest "cut" rates in Asia and much of Europe and Latin America have the lowest. Rates in Africa range all the way from 10% circumcised in Zimbabwe to 82% in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. For you data geeks out there, check out more stats at http://www.circinfo.net/rates_of_circumcision.html I had an interesting interaction not too long ago with an Hispanic physician who apparently is among those who feel that uncut men have a much more satisfying sex life due to their increased sensitivity and, indeed, prowess! So, the debate continues as it has for the last Millennium. All I can do in my own little way is to continue my heartfelt research into the subject. After all, if not now, when? If not me, who? At least that's my take on it....

Growing up in the UK I was not circumcised at birth but I was always fascinated by the look of the cocks of the small percentage of boys who were cut. I thought their cocks looked more interesting with the glans exposed and also their cocks were always cleaner ans many of my uncut friends never seemed wash under their foreskins.

In my early 20's I came to live in Australia and was pleasantly surprised to see that the vast majority of Aussie guys were circumcised and started to think about getting cut.

Eventually the time and place fell into alignment and I said goodbye to my foreskin and the start of the rest of my life as a properly circumcised male and I love it and have never for one moment regretted my decision to get circumcised!
